Letter from the Editors
Dear Reader,
At Electric Spec, we editors strongly believe in the value of fiction and its ability to entertain us, teach us about the human condition, and even lift us up in challenging times. The stories in this issue are diverse but all have something to say by utilizing some amazing, unique world-building--among other elements.
- AKA Jane Museum by Lane Robins -- When you have to dodge the gods on a daily basis, a person's paradigm becomes their most precious possession. What do you believe is the purpose of life?
- An Equivalent Exchange by Jamie Hawley -- Maybe you can find true love even when all hope seems lost.
- Just Fooling by Lisa Timpf -- True friendships stand the test of time, irrespective of hijinks or ...danger.
- The Delivery by Meenakshi Bhatt -- It's possible to see past a pleasant exterior to discover the truth, the threat, underneath.
- The Malicious Time Traveller's Dinner Party by Nigel Brown --In the face of seeming cruelty, it's worth betting on the power of kindness in this homage to Wells' The Time Machine.
In our Editor's Corner, we have a fun interview with the founders of Oblique Adventures--an exciting new table-top role-playing gaming company. With a free gift!
Finally, we're very happy to feature repeat artist Barbara Candiotti, who created our cover image, "Embedded Memories."
Thanks for reading,
Lesley, Grayson, Candi, and the Electric Spec Team
