Letter from the Editors
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the August 2017 issue of Electric Spec! We've got five new stories to round off the summer:
- Karda Burns by Roderick Phillips -- In the shadows of our modern world, ancient beings carry on the timeless dance of hunter and prey.
- Ada, or, The Limits of Logic by Robert Dawson -- Steampunk meets Jane Austen as a daring heroine risks life and limb for love.
- All Our Goodbyes, All Our Hellos by David Cleden -- A first contact mystery aboard a colony ship--and an unlikely reunion of estranged brothers.
- A Familiar and Her Wizard by Jeff Stehman -- What's a cat to do when her sorcerer companion bites off more than he can chew?
- Paper Walls by Matt Hollingsworth -- A gripping psychological thriller from the perspective of a schizophrenic telepath.
And don't forget our Editors' Corner. This time, we have two entries. The first is an excerpt from A Jack by Any Other Name, a new science fiction novel from our own Lesley L. Smith. In the second we're excited to feature an excerpt from Laurence MacNaughton's new novel A Kiss Before Doomsday, the second Dru Jasper book!
We hope you enjoy these stories as much as we did!
Thanks for reading,
The Electric Spec Team
